Restaurante "El Paso de Altea" is located at Carrer d'Alcoi, 5, just a short stroll from the bustling center of Altea's old town. This restaurant has garnered attention for its seafood offerings, particularly its paella, which many patrons have praised for its rich flavors and generous portions. The ambiance is described as spacious and comfortable, providing a pleasant setting for dining. The staff is noted for being attentive and friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
Visitors often mention the complimentary tapas served while they decide on their meals, which adds a nice touch to the dining experience. The menu features a variety of seafood dishes, with highlights including sea bass, cod, and a selection of paellas. The seafood paella, in particular, has received positive remarks for its quality, featuring ingredients like gambón, cigala, and mejillones. Some diners have also enjoyed the fried calamari, which has been well-received for its preparation.
While many reviews reflect satisfaction with the food and service, there are occasional mentions of inconsistencies in the dining experience. Some guests have expressed concerns about the value for money, noting that certain dishes may not meet expectations in terms of quality or flavor. Additionally, a few diners have pointed out that the restaurant can be quieter than others due to its slightly off-center location, which may appeal to those seeking a more tranquil meal. Overall, Restaurante "El Paso de Altea" presents a solid option for seafood lovers looking to enjoy a meal in a relaxed environment.
Seafood & chicken paella, fried calamari and bottle of sparking wine €80. Decent food but sadly over-priced. Be careful.

Excellent!!! We had a wonderful meal, a black rice dish that was simply amazing, very flavorful. The service was outstanding, with attentive and friendly waitstaff. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. If we return to Altea, we will definitely eat there. I highly recommend it 💯💯💯

We ordered a seafood paella that was absolutely delicious! It came with large shrimp, langoustines, and red shrimp, as well as squid, mussels, and swordfish. The service from the waitstaff was excellent. Definitely worth repeating.

We wanted a fish restaurant and so went to this restaurant after having read the positive reviews. We went on a Wednesday evening at around 7.30 and it was pretty quiet. It is just round the corner from the centre of the old town. We were offered free tapas whije we chose from the menu. The food was amazing. I had the sea bass and my wife had the cod. Both were absolutely fantastic. We were offered free shots of limoncello at the end of the evening.

The food at this place seemed entirely frozen, or at least that was my impression. One of the langoustines was in poor condition. The value for money is not great. The staff were not very friendly or engaging, though not all of them were like that. Honestly, I wouldn't return or even recommend it.

The place is nice, spacious, and well air-conditioned. The service is attentive and friendly. However, I feel that the value for money isn't great, probably due to its location. We ordered calamari, which were very salty, and a rice dish that was nothing special. One thing to note is that there's a daily menu, but the price isn't listed anywhere, and it's not offered when you sit down; you have to ask for it specifically.

We went to this restaurant on our first night in Altea and we were blown away by how amazing it was. We ordered the paella and shrimp for starters it was delicious. We loved this restaurant so much that we went again on our last night in Altea and the best service was from Jonathan. He has such a wonderful heart and he even gave us souvenirs! We highly recommend this place!!!

This place is definitely worth recommending. Since it's a bit away from the center, it wasn't crowded at all, which made for a very peaceful experience. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. As for the food, we ordered a Mediterranean salad, grilled national squid, and seafood paella. Everything was delicious and highly recommended, especially the squid, which we really enjoyed.

We came here for dinner. The waiter greeted us and was very nice, and fast. The restaurant was empty when we got there but the reviews looked very promising. We decided to order seafood paella. The paella was presented very nicely and tasted good. It also had pieces of chicken so if you have dietary preferences be aware about this. For us it was fine.
