This is already the second time I've come here to eat baked rice with crust. It's a wonderful place, both the outdoor and indoor areas are very pleasant, and the food offers excellent value for money. The service is a bit slow, which is a downside, and personally, I'm not thrilled about being given complimentary croquettes and then being charged for them. Nevertheless, the price-quality ratio remains very good.

The restaurant itself is very beautiful, traditional, and has a nice view. However, the experience did not meet our expectations. The organization of the service was confusing. The chef takes your order, seems to be doing well, engages in conversation, but then a waitress only takes care of drinks and another brings the food later. Don't get confused, because if you ask for something and it's not the one serving it, it will never arrive... Wouldn't it be simpler if one waiter took care of everything? The chef, knowing that we are locals, decided to take advantage of our meal service as well. He recommended one of his "best rice dishes," which he claimed wasn't on the menu because it was special, and we later noticed that he was pushing it to almost every table he could... Oh! And as a starter, some "homemade" croquettes because we "pleased him" (which reflected in the bill, yes, how nice of him). We intended to eat a good paella, but instead, after an hour and a half, we didn't understand why it took so long since there were only three tables occupied in the restaurant with few diners. After a while, a watery rice dish arrived at our table, without seafood, and the side was thawed vegetables and small pieces that looked like mini squid, thawed, of course.

We visited in September 2023 and left delighted. At La Capella, we tried the best arroz con costra we've ever had: flavorful rice, well-prepared pieces, and a golden, fine, and crispy crust. The place has a lot of charm in the old town of Altea; attentive service and perfect timing. Generous portions, honest prices, and a sufficient wine list. A place to return to and recommend without hesitation. A must for rice lovers; better to reserve.

It was a rather bittersweet experience. Even though we had a reservation for 3:30 PM, a time when most people had already finished eating, the service was incredibly slow. It took an hour to bring out a baked rice dish after we had only ordered a charcuterie board as a starter, which, in my opinion, was unevenly prepared—too soft in some areas and overly crunchy in others. The bread with tomato, which we didn't order, was brought to our table. When we told the waitress, "We didn't order this," she simply replied, "Yes," and the bread was chewy and hard around the edges. The baked rice had a good flavor, but the ribs were tough, and the chickpeas were similarly unremarkable. The bacon was decent, perhaps the best part of the meal, if we overlook the fact that they made a mistake on the bill and charged us for two desserts instead of one. Not to mention that the waitresses seemed quite distracted and didn't even clear our plates before the main course. The atmosphere and location were nice, but there's definitely a lot of room for improvement.

The service was excellent—friendly, polite, and quick! We were attended to by a very kind gentleman, and the quality of the dishes was outstanding. The portions were a bit small, but the atmosphere was fabulous. I highly recommend this place for a special occasion!

This place is behind and kind of hidden from the church plaza. And the reason why is more quite and less crowded, if compared with the restaurants at the touristic area. The terrace is cozy, charming... Just wonderful. I love this place. I recommend sitting at the terrace in a spring or summery day. Go to this place for the fish and the rices. The "al horno" and the one "a banda" are great. The sepia is out of this world. The salad of the house is stunning, with a thick piece of tuna, olives and all great ingredients. They always serve bread with tomato and alioli, as a starter. Try it.... Is good. And the desserts are homemade. The cakes are top. This place is not cheap at all, yet all is fresh, well cooked and the venue is special. The owner always walks and talks to the customers making sure that everyone is fine. He also takes the orders. There, everyone works. Better if you reserve.

Very lively and eclectic place. Had the famous oven rice. It was exceptional. The rice was perfectly aldente and the black pudding sausage melted in your mouth. Highly recommend. Don't bother going for dinner if you have lunch here. You won't need it.

Four of us ate a late lunch (4pm) here. It was very busy but we had reserved a table. I advise you to do this because it is very popular with the locals. We had delicious fish cakes for starters. My husband and i both had the tuna steak - the best tuna steak i have ever had. Moist and perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and helpful. The view of the montains from the restaurant is just stunning too. Highly recommended.

Very good experience in La Capella. The food was amazing - had calamar a la plancha, really tasty and nicely served. Staff was friendly and very accommodating as I was just visiting Altea for a day and did not have a reservation on a very busy bank holiday ( 1st May). Very good location, a bit hidden from the crowds, nice decor.

Excellent experience in this restaurant, we tasted burrata's salad, sausage and tomato 'coca' and a teleost fish with baked vegetables very good cooked all of them. For dessert I tasted an amazing 'tocino de cielo' with almonds. Also the place is located just at the side of the Altea's church, in the centre of the this historic village. All the same in last night experience, April 2022
