Restaurant Melitón Jardín is situated at Ctra. de Callosa, 52, in Altea la Vieja, Alicante, and it offers a Mediterranean dining experience that is both inviting and diverse. The restaurant occupies a charming old house surrounded by a magical garden filled with various trees and ambient lighting, creating a cozy atmosphere for diners. Guests appreciate the spacious outdoor terrace, which provides a pleasant setting for meals, especially during warmer months. The interior is thoughtfully decorated, reflecting attention to detail that enhances the overall dining environment.
The menu features a wide array of breakfast options, catering to both healthy and indulgent preferences. Choices range from wholesome dishes like rye bread with eggs to more decadent pastries. For lunch, the offerings include vegetarian and vegan selections, such as a flavorful stuffed sweet potato with avocado cream and romesco sauce. The restaurant emphasizes organic and eco-conscious ingredients, which resonates well with many patrons. While the food generally garners positive feedback, there are occasional mentions of inconsistency in the culinary experience, with some dishes receiving mixed reviews regarding their flavor profiles.
Service at Restaurant Melitón Jardín is often highlighted as attentive and friendly, contributing to a welcoming dining atmosphere. However, experiences can vary, with some guests noting that initial interactions may lack warmth. The restaurant also provides complimentary parking for customers, which is a significant advantage, especially during peak tourist seasons. Overall, Restaurant Melitón Jardín presents a blend of delightful surroundings and a varied menu, making it a notable spot for both locals and visitors in Altea.
Came for a late lunch with friends and loved the natural garden ambience and cozy, homey vibe right away. The staff are warm and attentive, and the organic, eco-conscious focus is a big plus. I had the vegetarian soup and vegan cheeseburger (great vegan selection). The standout was the stuffed sweet potato with avocado cream, candied tomato, greens, and romesco sauce — flavorful and beautifully done. Too full for dessert, but completely satisfied. A relaxing and feel-good dining experience.

I love this restaurant located in an old house with a magical garden full of different trees and lights that create a cozy atmosphere. The food is exceptional, especially the grilled octopus, tuna tartare, and apple ice cream. A place you can't miss!!!

A Mixed Experience at Melitón Jardín: Beautiful Terrace, Okay Food I recently visited Melitón Jardín hoping for a great evening, but left with some pretty mixed feelings, which led me to give it a 3 out of 5 stars overall. This review is truly a tale of two halves: a fantastic setting paired with a "okay" culinary and service experience. The absolute highlight of our visit, and what genuinely saved the evening from being bad, was the patio (terrasse). It is absolutely stunning—charming, beautifully decorated, and provides a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Sitting outside on a nice evening here is genuinely delightful, and I would highly recommend Melitón Jardín purely for the ambiance and outdoor dining appeal. However, the positive feelings faded quickly upon arrival. The initial service was disappointing; the welcome was very minimal and not so friendly. We felt slightly unwelcome, lacking the basic warmth and hospitality you expect from a dining establishment, especially one that appears to position itself as a higher-end locale. Moving onto the main event, the food was decidedly okay, no more. To be clear, it was not bad at all, and everything was perfectly edible and presented well. But that's where the praise ends. There was no dish that stood out or offered a memorable flavor profile. It was competent but lacked any real spark to elevate it beyond being merely satisfactory. This leads to the final sticking point: the price is a bit high. Given the competent but uninspired quality of the dishes and the noticeable lack of warmth from the service staff, the final bill felt excessive. While the terrace is gorgeous, it doesn't quite justify the premium cost attached to the full dining experience. For that price point, both the food and the customer service need to be exceptional. In summary, come to Melitón Jardín for a drink or appetizer on the beautiful patio, but if you're looking for a truly memorable meal or top-tier service to match the price, you might want to look elsewhere.

Family of 4, 2 boys, 7 and 13. Came for breakfast. Excellent healthy breakfast with outstanding organic coffee, lovely surroundings. Sarah our waitress was brilliant and explained the menu and recommended certain dishes, mine was the low carbon option, good choice, very delicious! Recommend highly.

Great food, amazing service! We sat outside in the garden and had an amazing view of the mountain. Would recommend for a date night or family night out.

This restaurant offers a wide range of breakfast and food options. You can choose from a diverse selection of breakfasts: from healthy choices featuring rye bread and extra protein thanks to the eggs, to more indulgent options with top-notch pastries. All of this comes with excellent service and attention! Special shoutout to Sara, the waitress who took care of us. Highly recommended!

A charming place! A spacious outdoor terrace and an interior that is meticulously cared for. There is quite a variety of elaborate breakfast options, including scrambled eggs, avocado toast, salmon, etc. In my case, time was limited, so I opted for something simpler and quicker, but just as tasty as the other dishes I saw. They offer free parking for customers, which is greatly appreciated, especially during peak season. The service and attention I received were excellent. I will definitely come back!
