Located at Carrer d'Alcoi, 2 in Altea, Quel Que Quieres presents a unique blend of Italian culinary traditions within a cozy, artistic setting. The restaurant is not situated in the bustling main square, which may lead some to overlook it, but those who venture here will find a welcoming atmosphere enriched by local art. The decor, crafted from recycled materials, adds a distinctive character that complements the dining experience.
The menu features a range of authentic Italian dishes, with highlights including a creamy burrata with spicy shrimp, and a traditional carbonara that has garnered praise for its flavor. For meat lovers, the pork tenderloin paired with goat cheese and sunflower sprouts is a standout. The tiramisu, served in a charming coffee pot, is noted for its light and creamy texture, making it a must-try dessert. While the pasta dishes receive high marks, it's worth mentioning that pizzas are not available, which some may find limiting. The selection of cheese and cured meats is recommended for sharing, particularly for larger groups.
Service at Quel Que Quieres is attentive and knowledgeable, with staff taking the time to explain each dish and offer personalized recommendations based on guests' preferences. This level of care extends to families, as the restaurant is accommodating to children. Although the space can become warm during dinner service due to the lack of air conditioning, the overall ambiance remains inviting. Reservations are advisable, especially for lunch, as seating can be limited. This restaurant stands out not just for its food, but also for the thoughtful details that enhance the dining experience, making it a noteworthy stop in Altea.
We absolutely loved it; everything was perfect, and the place has its own unique charm. I would suggest that anyone visiting this restaurant be on time, as I believe reservations end at 1:30 PM. It's definitely worth it.

The service was amazing from the very beginning. The food was delicious, and they explained each dish in detail, recommending what to choose based on our preferences. You can really tell how much love they put into their work. Before we left, they surprised us with a lovely gesture that we truly appreciated. Additionally, the decor of the place is absolutely stunning: everything is made from recycled materials by the owner herself, giving it a unique and special charm. This is a place I would highly recommend without any doubt. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous restaurant, stunning food surrounded by the owners art of all kinds! Very welcoming and helpful with children! Keep room in your bag for her stunning bowls!!! You will want some! Real show stoppers! It’s also at a great spot where the taxis can drop you and you’ll be near the church and all the winding streets you’ll want to explore - very important if you’ve anyone mobility impaired or children with you

The Italian food here is excellent; the pasta is fantastic, and the tiramisu is served in a coffee pot, making it incredibly smooth. It's not cheap, and they don't serve pizzas! The cheese and cold cuts bonsai platter is perfect for four people. If you're just two, consider ordering another dish.

One of the best Italian cuisine that I ever had. A must visit place. So tasty, so homey, Unbelievable.

The owners are lovely and you feel welcomed to the place, which was very hot inside for dinner time (no AC). The steak I had was well cooked with a nice zesty pesto on top, but a little pricey at 30 euros. We also had the shrimp ravioli, which was...missing some more shrimp? The portion could be a little more generous as well. Salad was great and fresh.

This is an absolutely fantastic find in Altea old town. A lot of people may miss it because it’s not in the main square near the church, but you will be sorry if you don’t visit! Beautiful place, fantastic local art. The service was the best, friendly and fun! The food was absolutely incredible. Real authentic Italian cooking. We will be back for sure! Can’t recommend enough. Thank you!

Absolutely loved this friendly family restaurant. The food was first class and very reasonably priced considering the quality. They looked after us brilliantly, especially our young daughter, so she had a lovely time, too. The limited wine selection was quality over quantity but also great vfm 👌. Thank you for a fabulous meal to end our stay in Altea.

This place is amazing! We went there for a meal, and the food was absolutely delicious; everything was fantastic. However, what I loved the most was the tiramisu—light, creamy, and made fresh on the spot. I wholeheartedly recommend it. The atmosphere is calm and wonderful, with very colorful and cheerful decor, and the tableware is top-notch, handmade. Every detail shows a heartfelt touch ❤️. And to top it off, there's a charming little Christmas elf made by the owner, which is just adorable. Thank you!
