An amazing place. This was the best restaurant we dined at in Altea. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. You absolutely cannot miss their desserts. The homemade turrón flan is a true indulgence.

La fachada no le hace justicia a ese lugar. It was absolutely fantastic; all the food we ordered was homemade, and they are really artisans. We went in a group of 8, almost finishing the midday service, and they made a space for us anyway, which is really appreciated. We tried: Boquerones 🤤 Chopitos. Arroz del señoret. Todo estaba delicioso y de postre: Tiramisú Flan de turrón (you have to try this one 💯) Arroz con leche. The attention was excellent, and I cannot wait to come back again. Muchas gracias 🫂

The fried dishes and the various plates we ordered didn't really impress us. The final bill came to about 30 euros per person, which we felt was a bit steep for what we had. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, but the service lost some points because they sprayed insecticide for flies just before serving our meals. The location could also use some improvement, particularly regarding cleanliness. A truly positive note was the excellent digestif they offered us at the end of the meal, a thoughtful gesture that shows care for the customer.

The service and treatment were top-notch. Regarding the quality of the food: An amazing red prawn from Dénia!! The cuttlefish was very fresh, but the presentation and preparation left a lot to be desired. We ordered razor clams, which were the worst part of the meal; fresh, yes, but full of sand. It's a crime to have such fresh ingredients and fail in the preparation. Lastly, we ordered mussels, which, despite being fresh, were again poorly prepared. Overcooked and not even cleaned properly.

It’s definitely not accurate to say that the menu isn’t fresh; the waiter mentions it with some caveats, and the Chopitos were simply delicious, among the best I’ve had so far, not to mention the appearance of the calamari. The menu feels traditional, just the way I like it, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. The prices are affordable for the quality you receive. I’m still licking my fingers from the pollo al ajillo. And to finish off, a homemade herbal liqueur. Service was top-notch. Now be careful, as they give you a round price and then add 0.95 on many dishes… euro by euro if you don’t mention it… which really annoys me (they corrected it on the receipt, but if I don’t say anything…).

Dined here with my family of 4 last night. Although the food was reasonably enjoyable, the lack of transparency around pricing is a problem and we ended up spending almost 140 euro (it would have been 150 had I not spotted that they tried to charge for 3 rather than 1 sparkling water), bear in mind this included no desserts, only one small beer and one glass of wine. Many of the dishes have no clear prices on the menu, it was only when we received the bill we saw that each gamba was €5, each croquetta 2.50 (I had assumed this price was for 4, ended up payed €15 for 6 croquettas). The seafood paella, though very tasty, was a very small portion for 2 people. I am writing this as I wish I had read this review before going to the restaurant. Buyer beware..

Unfortunately we did not have the best experience here,the food and service was very bad to say the least. We especially did not like the chopitos we ordered.The taste felt like it was burned and old oil was used,we kindly told the waiter (Getente) not sure if it was the owner,but we assume so,and he got very offended that we did not like it and raised his voice,and did not accept that it was unedible for us.He even brought somebody elses plate with chopitos saying they didnt complain,to prove his point. We felt very disrespected.Even if we were maybe in the wrong and this is how trafitional chopitos should taste (we had it multiple times on our trip and loved it at other restaurants) we even mentioned it might be fresh but it tasted completely burned) but this taste felt wrong.This is not how we should be treated.He was raising his voice to my wife saying she was the problem,not the meal in Spanish (she speaks Spanish and me not,and thats where I got pissed off and stepped in and told him have some respect!his reply 'we need to show respect'. Unacceptable customer service,and we still paid for it in full and only eating two pieces from 20. He even spoken to other guest on how we could not like the meal. The chef(we assume) came out and we paid and he was nice and apologized ,and said the person we talked to is a little bit was loco,that probably says a lot.. So all in all,I would def not recommed this place,and we made a big mistake trusting a place away from the beach and crowds.

I have mixed feelings about this place because the food was great but we felt ripped off as I am about to explain. The welcome by the waiter was friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. We were told that they don't serve paella today but that didn't matter since we were more interested in the tapas. The chopitos, the boquerones and the mejillones were spectacular and so were their home made croquetas of which we ordered a second portion. In the menu they were listed as costing 2.50 Euros and the picture showed 4. So we assumed this was the price for what was shown in the picture but it was 2.50 a piece. We ended up paying 20 Euros for 8 croquetas which is simply outrageous. That spoiled the overall positive experience we had that evening.

Unfortunately I would not recommend. The owner and staff were lovely and service was great. For two people, we had a bottle of house white (14 euros!!), ‘TAPAS’ of potatoes with cheese and bacon, sepia, chicken in garlic,and croquettes (2.5 euros each!!!!) , followed by cheesecake and two glasses of house white. The food was mediocre apart from the Sepia which was very good. The bill was 78 euros!!! There were no prices on the menu. That is the most expensive lunch we have had during 6 months travelling all over Europe / not a problem if the quality of the food matched the price and the prices had been on the menu, but sadly it didn’t and they weren’t! We really wanted to like this place as the reviews are great, and we have 6 family members joining us for Christmas and thought they would love it here. Shame we will be going elsewhere.
