Portosenso Bar, located at Partida La Galera, nº 1 in Altea, offers a unique dining experience with stunning views of the Mediterranean. Nestled at the edge of the water, this bar provides a tranquil setting, ideal for enjoying a meal or a drink while watching the waves. The proximity to the small nautical port enhances its charm, making it a pleasant retreat from the bustling city life.
The menu features a variety of options, including tapas and more substantial dishes like burgers and crepes. While some patrons have found the food to be satisfactory, others have pointed out inconsistencies in quality. Dishes such as grilled squid and tuna have received positive remarks for their taste and preparation. However, there have been mixed reviews regarding certain items, with some diners expressing disappointment over the presentation and flavor of specific meals. It is advisable to make reservations, especially during the summer months, to secure a table with a view, as the best spots are in high demand.
Service at Portosenso Bar has been described as friendly, though there are occasional lapses in management efficiency, particularly regarding reservations. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a suitable place for couples or groups of friends looking to unwind. Whether you choose to enjoy a light snack or a more filling meal, the scenic backdrop of Altea adds to the overall experience, making it a noteworthy stop along the coast.
A hidden gem near Altea which gets unnoticed as its further away from city hustle. Relaxing place with good spanish food.

A spectacular place, there’s nothing to complain about. The views are wonderful, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. We recommend the grilled squid, which was delicious and incredibly tender! And what can I say about the tuna!!!

An excellent place with unbeatable views! The service and attentiveness of the staff are professional and very attentive. I especially want to thank Moteo for his kind treatment and attention from the very first moment. The quality of the products is very satisfying and highly recommended for seafood lovers. If you're going as a couple, make sure to reserve in advance and request a table near the sea, as the view is unmatched, peaceful, and incredibly pleasant for enjoying time with your partner. It will be a pleasure to return!

A very nice place, but with service that could be improved. Not because of the waiters, who are polite and correct, but because of the management of the place itself. One lady eats at two tables while four people eat at one table. People without reservations are seated as soon as they enter, while others without reservations are seated at the back with a view of the sea. The management of the person in charge on that date is curious. The food is good, but not much more. If someone could provide good cuisine and good management, it would be fantastic.

A beautiful place to have dinner with a partner or friends. Perfect location. If you're lucky, you'll get a table over the sea. The service is very friendly. We were a bit startled because, despite having reserved the table for a later visit, they had no record on the day, but they quickly fixed it. The food is good and varied. It is absolutely necessary to make a reservation in advance, at least in summer.

This place is fantastic; it's truly an exceptional and unique spot to dine just a meter away from the entrance of the small marina. That alone makes it worthwhile. The menu is quite casual, featuring burgers and sandwiches, but it also offers some impressive tapas that make it a great choice for summer dinners by the sea.

The location of the restaurant at the end of the pier with a view over Altea is truly something special. It’s a lovely spot for a relaxing drink or coffee while enjoying the scenery. However, when it comes to the food and drinks, the selection is comparable to what you’d find at many standard beach bars. Unfortunately, the quality leaves much to be desired. We ordered the “Porto Senso Burger,” which was described on the menu as being made with well-aged beef. It’s highly doubtful there was any beef in the patty at all. The main ingredient was clearly pork — finely minced into a mousse-like texture. When I pointed out that the meat didn’t taste or look like beef, the response from the staff was vague: “It is beef.” Upon further questioning about the texture, flavor, and color, the only reaction was a shrug and a dismissive, “If you say so…” Disappointing, to say the least.

Wonderful location but more focus on simple food and beverages. Lovely place to relax and have a glass of wine, not a place for a great food experience.

First visit to this bar today, good location on the edge of the water. Coffee was good, but then I decided to have lunch and ordered the bacon and mushroom crepe at 12 euros (not cheap). When it arrived I was shocked at the presentation, it resembled a plate of vomit, decorated with black salt (see photo). Forever hopeful, I started to eat it, there was a crepe buried beneath the mountain of bottled or canned sauce, something that barely resembled a mushroom and I think there was bacon in there, but the taste was chemical and nothing more than salt. Needless to say I left most of my meal, I did not complain as I did not have the chance, the waiter did not return to our table and I had to go the the bar to ask to pay my bill. This is utterly sub-standard food and particularly at this price. We will not return to eat and would not recommend a meal there.
