Cosy bar, right on the sea front - ideal for people watching and catching some sun. Sell a few bottles of local craft beer. Gave me some small tapas of bread, cheese, ham and olive which was a great touch. Very reasonable price, €7.40 for a tea and craft beer.

Fantastic. We had steamed mussels, and there was a generous portion. The alioli with the bread was excellent, and the broken eggs with the chorizo were just perfect. We'll definitely be back.

We had a disappointing experience. We were looking for a place to eat some fish, and after checking the menu online, we chose this one because we liked what they offered. To our surprise, there was no fried fish available. Apparently, they don't serve it on Sundays. Personally, considering it's called Casa del Mar, I find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be any fish for frying on a Sunday in August. To make matters worse, the prices on the bill were a euro higher than what was listed on the website, as they recently updated the physical menu but the online prices haven't been changed yet. I understand that this is an issue for the establishment, not the customers, and they should honor the previous prices, but that's up to them. Given all this, I wouldn't recommend it, and we won't be returning. That said, the staff is doing their best and trying to make excuses as best they can, so kudos to them.

We had a fantastic dinner, the staff was very friendly, the food was excellent, and the place had a pleasant atmosphere with great views of the sea. For dinner, we had: 1 Ham croquette 1 Boletus croquette 2 Shrimp croquettes (We can confidently say these are the best croquettes we've ever had; they're truly special.) 1 Garlic shrimp casserole 1 Andalusian-style calamari (battered) 1 Braised beef sauce with potatoes 2 beers and 2 Coca-Colas A solo coffee with a glass of punch Total: €72 for two people. I highly recommend it!

We ate there by chance and it was great. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. The food was very good. We ordered Pulpo, steamed mussels, and fried fish, everything was delicious and the portion sizes were just right.

The food was quite good, although I found the portions a bit expensive for the amount served. Aside from the two hamburgers ordered as the main dish by two of the diners, the rest of us decided to order shared plates, which barely provided a small serving for each person. I would say the mini hamburgers were the best value for money. The large hamburgers were fine, although there were significantly more fries than meat. Nevertheless, I think the location and the service make it worth it.

Disappointing Food Experience at a Beautiful Spot – Casa del Mar, Altea Stopped by Casa del Mar during a day in Altea, drawn in by the stunning seaside view and chilled-out vibe. The location is absolutely perfect for relaxing with a drink and watching the sea—but unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. It all started oddly with some crackers served alongside our drinks, which we quickly realized were old and past expiry—a very bad first impression. Then came the croquettes, which were clearly frozen and reheated. They were edible, but nothing special in taste or texture. The grilled octopus dish followed, and it was perhaps the most disappointing plate of the day. It lacked seasoning entirely, and was paired with a bland mashed potato that felt like an afterthought rather than a complement. Lastly, the garlic prawns, a classic tapas that’s hard to mess up, arrived swimming in oil. The prawns were soggy, and the flavor was completely overwhelmed. It felt rushed, greasy, and lifeless—which summed up most of the food experience here. To be clear, this place is not suitable for dining, especially if you’re looking for fresh or quality local food. It felt like a textbook tourist trap—amazing views, but underwhelming and overpriced food. That said, the bar has a decent seaside atmosphere for a drink if you’re just looking to relax and enjoy the view. For a cocktail or a quick cerveza, it might still be worth a visit. But for a meal? I’d strongly recommend exploring other nearby spots where quality is taken seriously.

Located on the beautiful seafront at Altea, this restaurant was superb! We had two fussy kids with us but the chicken and chips they did were phenomenal and huge portion sizes. The tapas was beautiful and I highly recommend the garlic prawns and also the baked camembert. If I had one gripe it was that we were sat slightly on a slope. Other than that, everything was excellent and it server was very attentive.

Such an amazing experience! We chose menu of the day, 20€/ person. Salads were great and so were croquetas. and And I have eaten the best prawns ever. Really big and tasty. All of our plates were huge and full of food. A big surprise were...fries 😀 because in many places I have been fries were like nothing special. Not here - one of the best I have ever tried 💪. And apple pie with cream - yummy. Service was great. Thank you for having us 💛
