The walkway is very well maintained, with artificial grass and wide walking areas. It's a shame that the beach is made of stones. There are dog droppings along the walkway and on the beach among the stones. There's a lack of civility from people, which is unfortunate.

Most people make the mistake of visiting Altea, and not going to the old town itself, the old town is most definitely well worth a visit, white washed buildings, with an historical church, with great views, the beach is well maintained, spotlessly clean, with a promenade boasting lots of bars and restaurants, you can also walk from Altea over into Albir along the promenade.

The newly renovated promenade stretches 1400 meters from the port to the mouth of the Río Algar. It's a charming place by the Mediterranean Sea, perfect for strolling or exercising. There are plenty of shops, children's play areas, a zone with health-oriented machines, a park for dog exercise, numerous sculptures, and a beach with open waters running parallel to the promenade. It's still a work in progress, but they are making it very beautiful and tasteful.

Superb stroll along the Altea coastal line! Shops, caffees, restaurants and boutiques with their sendid terraces accopanied us all the way! It’s a must see form my point of view!

The iconic beach boulevard of Altea. Perhaps the number 1 beach boulevard of the Costa Blanca. Surrounded by the Bernia mountain ridge, the Sierra Helada and off course the Mediterranean sea. Flanked by bars and restaurants catering to all wishes. We often walk the whole of the boulevard from Altea to the anchor in Albir and back, finishing up on the mountain at the famous church of Altea. 12 kilometers of beauty. Even living here for years and having made this walk dozens of times in all seasons at all weathers, it is stunning everytime we do it again. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful view point! It is just beside the church in the old town. It's quite a difficult walk as there are a lot of steps but I promise you it is worth it.
