Beautiful and well located hotel. We had a relaxing and great stay. Staff is sweet and very polite. They have a wonderful outdoor space with pool and long chairs to enjoy the sun and have a drink. We stayed on the second floor, in room 05. The room is spacious, gorgeous and was spotless. The amenities are great, mini bar is generous on beverage selection, smart tv working perfectly and excellent pressure shower. Although the bedsheets were of good quality the bed itself was uncomfortably soft for us. Breakfast was absolutely sad, weird selection, no hot items. The buffet was left with barely nothing on the plates, dry leftovers, no refills. It simply lowered the value of the experience, is paradoxical to the whole concept. Get it together. It was my first time in Altea, and the service from Pepa, Arantxa, and Marichu was outstanding, highly recommendable. The hotel is beautiful, tastefully decorated, and the quality of the products is exquisite.

My son treated me to a stay for one night, from Tuesday, December 23 to December 24. We were the only guests at the hotel, although later a gentleman arrived. When my son made the reservation, he requested that the beds be separated. They did this later because there was only one person on duty who handled everything. They left the mattress separator in the room, as it seemed too heavy to move. I asked them to take it away. The beds didn’t have top sheets, so I requested some, but they were huge and not single size. There was a separate comforter, and in the morning, I noticed it was stained and dirty. Perhaps that’s why we couldn’t stop scratching all night. The pillows were very uncomfortable, and I’m not sure if the sheets were 100% cotton; they didn’t seem like it. The bathrobes looked quite old, so we didn’t use them. Breakfast had a little bit of everything, but nothing of good quality. The coffee was very bad and extremely strong. I had to ask if they had freshly squeezed orange juice. The service from Pepa in the morning shift and María Jesús in the afternoon was very good, but they can’t work miracles. The boutique hotel is lovely in terms of facilities and decoration. We were on the first floor, and there’s a nice little terrace. We were in room 9, which had a beautiful view from the window, and everything was very peaceful. We had to check out by noon, but it was 12:15 when we were delayed because it was raining. It was unbelievable; we were the only ones there. The location is great, but parking is a nightmare. In summary, they need to pay attention to very important details, starting with the bedding and the quality of breakfast. I found out at the last minute, and not from my son, that they charged "280 euros" for one night, which I thought was outrageous because it’s not worth that.

We loved it! We went as a couple in early September and came away delighted. The hotel was cozy, small but charming. Additionally, the guests were very respectful, with no children or noise at the pool. Breakfast was included. The room had a comfortable bed, beautiful decor, and thoughtful details. *On Thursdays, they had a barbecue on the main terrace, it's a pity we had already left and couldn't attend. What I liked most: the pool.

I really liked the spa and everything there, but the water in the jacuzzi was cold. It was winter. I'm afraid to go back because I liked the atmosphere, but I'm worried about being cold in the water. They should make it warmer.

We spent two nights at the hotel and celebrated our wedding dinner at the restaurant L’etiquette inside the hotel. It was an incredible experience, from the moment we walked in to ask for information, through the communication during the organization and our stay, to the dinner itself. Julie was wonderful in communicating with us during the planning, thank you! Aranzazu made our stay and dinner even more special with her attention to detail, care, and affection she put into everything. The food was excellent (with special care for allergies — something not always found in Spain, but here it was phenomenal), the location is very pleasant, and the staff is amazing. Thanks to the entire La Serena team for a wonderful time, we will be back!

We booked last minute for 5 days in September (and got a discount by booking directly with the hotel) and had a lovely stay but did have to remind ourselves that despite the very chic decor, the hotel is only a three star. We booked an urban deluxe room which was the cheapest - it was really clean and nice decor, but very small and no outdoor area. Does have a private enclosed bathroom though (if you want this level of privacy - unlike the other rooms.) All in all, it was lovely and worked for us, but very much a 3 star hotel and possibly a bit overpriced for that. Pros - as everyone has said, the location is perfect. 5 mins from old town and 5 mins from the beach. Staff were friendly. The pool area is lovely and relaxing - usually always enough beds to go around. Cons - the breakfast was cold options only (cereal, small amount of fruit, cheese/meat, small croissants, yoghurt, baguettes, pre cooked boiled eggs and tortilla.) Shame you couldn’t get cooked, fresh eggs. For us, the mattress was too soft and cushiony, and the bed was small. It also rained 2-3 days we were there and there was quite a big leak in the main hallway (that no staff acknowledged) literally dripping down the main stairwell, and we quickly learned there wasn’t really anywhere comfortable to sit and relax that wasn’t in the rain - again meaning you have to go out to find somewhere to sit and read in the poor weather. They did virtually no veggie options on the lunch or dinner menu so had to eat out twice a day. If you’re looking for a restaurant and are into your food, go to Xef Pirata. Really exceptional tapas!

We went for a spa day with dinner included. It was beautiful! The spa is like no other in the area. A very relaxing & unique experience. They had a bottle of water and OJ, lots of fruit, slippers and bath robes all at the ready. Only slight issue was that we were ‘late’ leaving the spa. If you have paid for 2 hours you have to be out in 2 hours, including the time it takes you to change and leave. We then had a couple of hours to wait before dinner, but the receptionist let us use the pool side beds while we waited which was very kind The dinner was delicious and the waiter and waitress were super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Sadly staff are not attentive. We had daily noise from them renovating rooms and a fire alarm what woke us up at 7am. No acknowledgment or apologies from staff. For 2 of the 3 days that we were there, all the outside furniture was left covered up all day, so we were unable to use. It wasn’t the warmest weather but it was dry, and we ate outside each night in other nearly restaurants. So they could have made the effort to uncover outside furniture. The parking is under the hotel and is extremely tight to get a car in, so for the price of it, give it a miss. Be warned some rooms are on the lower ground floor. So check what rooms you are booking. Would not return for the price and service on offer here.
