The rooms are very clean, the views of the mountains and the sea are luxurious, the bed is super comfortable, the location is perfect, and the staff is very friendly. Without a doubt, if I return to Altea, I will stay at the same hostel again.

This is a simple hostel without any frills, yet it is comfortable and welcoming. The hostel is ideally located on a very quiet street in the historic center of Altea, just a few meters from the church square and numerous shops and restaurants. The rooms are basic but very clean and bright, featuring very comfortable beds. Our room had a terrace with views of the old town of Altea and the Church of the Consolation. There is a flat-screen TV in the room. The bathroom is very clean and fully equipped with a large shower, a hairdryer, and personal hygiene amenities. In our case, breakfast was not included, but there is a small restaurant in the hostel that offers a menu with various breakfast options, including toast and pastries. The Wi-Fi works quite well, providing a stable signal in the room. The woman who assisted us at the reception was friendly and quick during check-in. There are plenty of free public parking areas close to the hostel. This is a highly recommended hostel with an excellent price-quality ratio, perfect for spending a few days in the Marina Baixa region.

Great location next to Palau Altea hall centre , excellent service and clean and spacious rooms. Comfy beds . Parking on the street free Stairs and lift available in the building .

It was the cheapest place we found, and we loved it. The rooms had a very large bathroom and a great terrace upstairs to see the village. Plus, everything was very clean.

Great Hostal in a great location, we only stayed 1 night but loved it. Only fault was the toilet area didn't have a door, just glass blocks and an opening.

The experience at this hostel was wonderful. We traveled as a couple with our little dog. We couldn't arrive on time for check-in, but they made it easy for us to get in without any issues. Upon entering the room, we noticed its cleanliness and the small terrace it had. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it was a room with all the amenities you could want (TV, fridge, wardrobe, hangers, extra bedding available…). There was almost never anyone at the reception, and we checked out with the cleaning staff. If they have a bell, and even though we didn't need it, I imagine they are available for guests' needs. The location is very good, I would say unbeatable. Parking can be a bit tedious in high season, but there are many free parking spots nearby. Although it’s not part of the hostel, there’s a bar downstairs that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is PET FRIENDLY. It’s nice to have a place nearby for breakfast where dogs are allowed.

Great Hostel!! Perfect location at the entrance to the old town. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. There’s a terrace with an amazing view. The price is competitive and there’s a variety of rooms available. Recommended!

It is very well located, near the church and plaza. The rooms are newly renovated, and although they do not have a great view, the terrace is a wonderful place from where to see the historical town.

Great spot, and worth the money for the location alone. We booked a private room and it was clean and very spacious, with a private terrace and large private bathroom. Would stay here again!

We arrived very late on a Friday evening due to flight times and access was via means of a key box as there are no on site staff overnight. Upon accessing our room it quickly became apparent that the room next door to us was being used for a party. To say the action of the young people staying there was antisocial is an understatement. Live music, banging, smoking illicit substances, it was unbearable. With no chance of sleep and it now approaching 2am, I had little choice but to knock on the door and ask them nicely to be quiet. It was immediately clear that they were three individuals out of control with no respect for common decency. My action of requesting they be quiet, was like a red rag to a bull and led to them banging on the wall, and turning the music up even louder. I then had to ring the hostel management and asked what they were going to do about the unacceptable behaviour of some of their guests. The local police were called and proceeded to themselves try and have a reasonable conversation with these people. For reasons I don't understand they spent 30 minutes trying to calm things down, rather than just asking them immediately to leave. By the time the police eventually left it was now 4.30am, we were exhausted and managed to get 3 hours sleep. However neither of us felt comfortable for obvious reasons in extending our stay any further and tried to get hold of management to advise that we wish to cancel our booking with immediate effect and we're going to seek alternative accommodation for the remainder of our stay. We also advised the cleaner of the issues, returned the keys and left. We still had not heard from management later that morning so once again messaged and requested a refund of our accommodation costs, as a minimum for the unused nights but clearly expecting the reasonable response to have been a refund for all three nights. We were contacted and advised in a reasonable tone that they would investigate and would come back to us on Monday with a proposed solution. Monday arrived and late in the day having still not heard anything, we messaged very politely asking if the matter could be expedited. It is then the hostility commenced. The whole tone changed and we were now being painted as the villains for having left the premises prematurely! Who in their right mind would have expected us to stay a minute longer. It quickly became apparent that the original offer of a solution to our request was not on management's agenda at all. Then this was confirmed when the bare faced lies commenced and we were advised that as we had provided no indication that we were leaving in sufficient time for the room to be re-let, no recompense was going to be paid. Even though we have transcripts of the communications proving we absolutely advised early Saturday morning. Our further attempts at getting some form of acknowledgement that it was the 'right thing to do' to give us our money back, all we now get is complete radio silence. Of course I appreciate that you can't legislate for the quality of the clientele staying in your establishment. But equally you CAN legislate for how you respond after horrendous experiences in your establishment. If you choose to adopt a philosophy that 'Sh*t happens' and clients going through such a horrible experience means nothing to you whatsoever, then it is right that is called out and shared so future potential clients can make an informed decision whether they want to give you their business and take the risk of something similar happening to them. If just one future booker makes alternative plans as a result of reading this, we will at least have some satisfaction that you were unable to give us.
