What a pitty, it was our last day when we went. We are gutted but we will be back for this more and for Cartagena. It is exactly what makes me proud of being Spanish. I wasn't sure how to review El Canton. Only 2 choices short and sweet or what I've done. El Canton deserves some time, as that would s what they gave us. From start to finish everything was perfect. The owner Lucio is on hand to meet and greet and makes sure your experience is exceptional. The team here are fantastic, super professional and so helpful & kind. They know their stuff. We ordered a couple of bits to start with unsure of what to expect. Well this is where the real pleasure of a great food experience begins. My favourite the lollypops started our evening with an amazing bottle of red wine from Riviera del Duero. I have now been to heaven and happy to come back for the next mouthfull. We had a few of the toasts marinara, matrimonio & bicicleta. These were amazing, best russian salad we've had in a long time. The popular revolutionario & fajardo are like mini burgers on flavour steroids. The artichokes and we had both types were outstanding. We had a few other bits and then moved on to the sweet bits. Here the torrijas took us back to heaven and for our daughter the white chocolate coulant made her night. The only issue that left us sad was that we wished we came here sooner and/or we lived here. This place made our experience of not just this perfect venue to enjoy some of the best service, fantastic food experience and wishing for more. But also made us want to come back to the amazing city of Cartagena. Lucio and his team made us feel wanted, appreciated and above all cared for every minute of our experience. There is so much care and attention to detail in everything they do. Muchísimas gracias a todos del equipazo del Cantón. Volveremos!!! Muchos abrazos.

I was really looking forward to eating very Spanish food on this vacation. El Canton met my expectations; it's a small but very pleasant bar-restaurant. The portions may seem small, but they are filling! They are perfect for sharing. If you get the chance to visit it, do so! You won't regret it!

We went there because it was recommended by the tour guide. The ducks are presented very stylishly, even with edible flowers. The terrace is very comfortable and has several seating options. The food was fine, but honestly, it didn't blow me away.

The Tapería El Cantón restaurant has a very convenient and easily accessible location. The staff's attention was correct and professional at all times, providing quick and friendly service. We had no trouble finding a table, and the service time was fast, which is always appreciated. A particularly noteworthy aspect is the quality-price ratio: the prices are very competitive compared to the quality and variety of the dishes offered. Overall, the experience was very positive, and I will definitely return to try more dishes from the menu.

-Tasty and unpretentious tapas in the heart of Cartagena- A tapas bar in the historic center, very well located and with a cozy atmosphere. It features an indoor lounge and a very pleasant terrace, covered with an awning, perfect for any time. We tried a tuna toast with tomato and avocado, fresh and well-balanced; a correct and recognizable marinera; homemade fries, nicely golden; and several brioche “El Revolucionario,” with tender shredded meat, delicious and very appealing for sharing. The service was very good, friendly, and efficient. Prices are very affordable for the quality and location. A highly recommended option for enjoying tapas without complications in Cartagena.

Super good food and creative. You definitely need a reservation. The Only downside is if you sit at the table next to the door, you have to smell the cigarette from the doorman. He is very friendly though. The rest is fantastic.

A must-visit in Cartagena! I recommend the torrija even for those who aren’t dessert fans… It’s a delight! The food is delicious, the waiters are super attentive and friendly, and the prices are very good too. It’s not expensive to eat or dine. There are always young people and a pleasant atmosphere.

Reservation required but possible to get a table with a little waiting time. Many locals but also tourists, so they speak good English. Prices are very justified and good, great recommendations and help with decision especially with portion size. Food came quickly and tasted great. Staff was friendly from beginning to end, but it sure got more busy so there was a little waiting time to get the servers back to the table. All in all definitely a place to go to.

Great food, reasonable prices. Service is not very friendly, but fast. All in all we had a good time and really enjoyed the dishes. Would recommend making a reservation or being there a few minutes before opening time, as it gets crowded really fast.

First time in Cartagena, stumbled across this place. I looked at the google maps reviews that were praising this place. We ordered various dishes to share, I recommend trying a bit of everything as all of the dishes were delicious. The prices are affordable for such amazing flavors. Definetly my favorite tapas place of all time.
