We were on vacation in Alicante and decided to visit Cartagena. We came across the restaurant La Tartana where we had a wonderful dinner. I wanted to invite some friends from Croatia to try something typical from Cartagena, but they wanted paella, which is normal. Since it was a Monday, there weren't many restaurants to choose from. We saw that this one had rice dishes and decided to give it a try. The first impression wasn't great: on the entire terrace, only 3-4 tables were occupied, two that were finishing up and two, including us (there were three of us), who had just arrived, and there were three waiters, or let's say two + one girl as an assistant. First, it took them a long time to come and ask what we wanted, then it took quite a while to bring the drinks, and I won't even mention the food. From the time we sat down to when we started eating, it took an hour! And with only 2-3 tables occupied. Oh yes, they brought us the food but without cutlery and napkins (the tablecloths were real, not paper). After all this, you lose the desire to eat there, although I must admit that the food was quite good. All this pleasure of waiting so long to eat cost us 74 € (three marineras, rice for two and one dorada, plus three drinks). I, who live here, am clear: I will not return and I repeat, not because of the food but because of the terrible service. If it is like this now in winter, I can't even imagine how it will be in summer...

A truly gastronomic experience. The venue is tastefully decorated, blending elegance with tradition. The dishes are highly crafted, ranging from classic tapas to more sophisticated options. We ordered the shrimp carpaccio, which wasn't on the menu, but we definitely recommend trying it! The prices are reasonable, considering the quality of the location, the ingredients, and the preparation. The service was splendid, very organized, and plentiful. In particular, our server Janira provided excellent recommendations for typical regional dishes. We will definitely return on our next visit to Cartagena!

I had dinner on November 21, 2025, and I really enjoyed all the dishes we ordered (I've attached some pictures). The portions were quite generous. I also want to highlight the excellent service we received, starting from the reservation call all the way through to the end of the meal. Overall, I highly recommend trying a tasting if you're in the area because you won't regret it.

Good experience. The food was amazing. I ordered the daily menu. The lentil soup really tasted good. As a second course, I had lamb meatballs, which were gorgeous. All the staff are very attentive.

Delicious paella 🥘, great espresso. ☕️ Beautifully set tables with white tablecloths, a pleasant atmosphere. The place is perfect...sitting outside, you can watch people strolling and couples in love, as the restaurant is located on the main pedestrian street...a wonderful place.

A great place to eat in Cartagena. They also have a daily menu for €15 that includes a drink and dessert. We ordered from the menu and chose a mature beef burger and broken eggs with prawns and mushrooms. Everything was amazing, the service was a 10! We will return.

The starters were delicious, clams and vegetable pie. Mains course, goat leg and entrecote, perfectly cooked but a little boring with nicely cooked potatoes and a tiny amount of cooked pepper mixed through. Wines were exceptional. Service was poor. Zero camaraderie, lady was on the phone gassing when we entered. Male waiter forgot to ask us if we needed wine. Asked about the white wines, all we got was they were dry, extra dry for such exceptional wines they were totally undersold. The wine was poured with the bottle resting on the glass. The red wine arrived after we were half way through the meat, the second glass of wine was forgotten about and the bill arrived with an extra item on it , which was taken off when it was pointed out - just sloppy. Such a shame when someone has gone to so much trouble to select good wines and create and cook good dishes.

Very Nice place. We went here for dinner on a Rainy Saturday. We took a dish of “jamon” as a starter, and it was excellent. Then we took a Paella, and a steak. Both were delicious. For dessert….. We chose again a dish of ham, and croquettes…😁 The staff was very gentle and friendly, we had only one misunderstanding ordering the drinks. We spent totally 163 € total, including the wine. Really appreciated.
