-A must-try classic in Cartagena- At La Mar Sala, we enjoyed an excellent meal with generous and flavorful dishes. We tried everything from grilled cured cheese with honey and nuts to very tasty homemade croquettes, along with the flavorful cartagenero octopus and crispy, non-greasy calamari. The toasts with iberian secreto and the montaditos (tomato and lomo, Malasombra and Gloria Bendita) also stood out, all different and very original, perfect for sharing. The service was quick and very friendly at all times, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The value for money is very good, and the atmosphere is that of a charming neighborhood bar, ideal for tapas in Cartagena. A place I will definitely return to, both for a meal with friends and for a more informal stop. Highly recommended.

The croquettes were amazing, but the gulas with potatoes could have used a bit more substance. The toast seemed fine in theory, but I’d rather stick to the roe and almonds like I always do. I’ll come back when those two poor guys get some extra help because they’re struggling.

I go there often because they have fresh fish and seafood at a reasonable price and generous portions. Plus, you can't leave without trying the best croquettes in all of Cartagena, the ones with cuttlefish and shrimp are a delicacy! And the homemade desserts, like the torrija with ice cream. 😋 The staff is lovely, hardworking and friendly people.

The food is mediocre at best. Each meal came out one at a time. Our salad was drowned in sauce. We waited at least an 1 hour for my son to get some plain penne and tomato sauce. Clearly they need a new chef. They were very nice but then it all went downhill from there. They didn’t offer anything for waiting, didn’t apologize, and charged us an automatic ten percent tip to boot! I do not recommend!!

First came here few years back and recently had lunch here with my in laws again. A local favourite diner with the warmest hospitality and probably one of the place with the freshest seafood you can find in Cartagena! We were also humbled by the experience of being served their best dishes in the restaurant. Definitely recommended for anyone with huge love for seafood to come by and try this place out if you haven't!

Interior has a very nice Mediterranean Vibe with nice pastel blue colour scheme Had the fritura for 2 with a bottle of Vino Blanco included stopped by for the futbol Celta. Vigo B v Cartagena Good efficient service from pleasant staff Will definitely be back Who knows it could become a pre. Match Venue??
