This clinic is fantastic! We used it for our rabies vaccination and deworming before heading back to the UK, and the team was incredibly kind. Their communication via WhatsApp was super quick, which was perfect for us since we don’t have a Spanish phone to make calls. Overall, I can’t recommend them enough; we’ll definitely be back next year when we visit Altea again. Thank you so much!

One afternoon, we noticed our little dog Misty looking a bit sad, and upon closer inspection, we saw her skin was looking paler than usual. When we took her to the vet, they ran some tests and discovered that her red blood cell count was extremely low. It has been a tough 10 days for us, filled with numerous tests and two blood transfusions, among other things. Basically, her own body had started to see the red blood cells as foreign invaders, and her immune system went into overdrive, trying to eliminate them completely. They had to conduct various tests to determine the cause and focus on that, but fortunately, nothing else was affected; it just happened. The doctor who attended to us and took on the case from the very beginning was the lovely Daniela. The care she showed towards our dog Misty was incredible throughout the entire process. I won’t lie; in my job, I deal with so many people who are overly focused on business that I tend to be on guard and defensive, thinking that the treatment in these places might be exaggerated just to win over customers. How wrong I was! Daniela is just that adorable; she truly loves animals and feels genuinely upset when they are unwell. She treats them with as much tenderness as possible and tries to minimize any discomfort when giving injections or drawing blood. She speaks to them in a very sweet manner to calm them down. She has achieved things with Misty that no one else has in her 10 years. Misty has never accepted any food or treats from anyone outside of our immediate family. It doesn’t matter if it’s the tastiest treat in the world. Yet, she not only accepted treats from Daniela but also wagged her tail for her, welcoming her into her circle despite the fact that Daniela would be seen as 'the enemy'—the one who gave her shots, kept her confined, and forced her to eat with a syringe, etc. There must be something special about Daniela that Misty sees. As soon as things got serious, Noelia and Sara also stepped in. They advised us on how to proceed urgently since we had to transfer her to Elche for an emergency transfusion, and they took care of everything. They called the hospital, sent over all the tests they had conducted, the documentation, etc., and by the time we arrived, they were ready to attend to us promptly. This was undoubtedly crucial and immensely helpful for us, as it can be challenging to arrive somewhere nervous and have to start from scratch. We have known Tais for 10 years; every time we pass by, she remembers Misty and greets her warmly, even though years go by between visits. She remembers her because she was there and played a part in saving her life when she was just 3 months old and had arrived at our home very sick. Sara, Noelia, Daniela, and Tais make a fantastic team; they treat their patients with so much love, speaking to all the little animals to soothe and assist them. In addition to their work of 'healing animals,' they also act as 'human psychologists,' listening to us and attending to us with great patience. They have even sent us photos and videos via WhatsApp of how Misty was doing when we had to leave her there for treatment to keep us at ease. They have also called our home to check on how Misty was doing. We wish all four of you a bright future both personally and professionally as you continue to save the lives of our beloved furry friends. Sergio, Daniela, and Gael.
