La Platja de l’Espigó provides a serene setting with stunning views of the charming village of Altea. While the water can occasionally be a bit murky, the relaxed atmosphere and the lovely promenade more than make up for it. The nearby beaches are surrounded by large rocks, adding a natural touch, but it's advisable to bring along some water shoes and beach chairs for extra comfort. Additionally, the facilities are excellent, featuring showers and lifeguards on duty to ensure safety. It's an ideal spot to enjoy the sea in a cozy and well-equipped environment.

It is an excellent beach area. With lifeguards in Sumner months. Advised to wear beach shoes as some stones are quite big. Plenty of cafes, with WC facilities and a love Chringuito on the far end of the beach where you can hear the sea breaking on the rocks

Lovely walk out to the Algar river from Altea. Altea has been sunny all of November and warm, over 20C, most days. Beautiful old village with hills and mountains rising straight from the sea. The sheltered bay is covered in stones many of which appear to have fossils in them.

The views and the surroundings are exceptional, but the beach is almost nonexistent. You have to position yourself on the pier or in the rocky area, which comes with difficulties and discomfort. It would be more attractive to go by boat, if that were possible.

Ufff, I did not like this beach at all. It's pretty, but it's rocky. It's horrible to walk on them if you don't wear flip-flops or water shoes. When I got into the water, it was the same; the bottom is full of rocks, and it's hard to place your foot. There's a lot of current, and the water is a bit dirty, with lots of algae. There is quite a bit of plastic on the shore; they should take better care of it. There is only one lifeguard for the entire beach; there should be at least two, considering the area it covers. Lastly, I recommend bringing a chair if you want to sunbathe; I laid down my towel and came out with a nice rock massage.

It's a beautiful beach if you don't mind that it's made of round stones, there's no sand. When you enter, the water almost reaches your waist. The water has a very nice color, whether you see it at ground level or from above. In the background, you can see the Peñon de Ifach. It's very close to the urban center of Altea. There are wooden walkways, foot showers, etc. Many bars and restaurants in the area and a small parking lot.
