It has some good, some bad about it. The site is interesting and the signage in 3 languages allows many to learn. The non historic building materials are a little weak. The staff wasn't friendly. The security guard always was smoking and there are cigarette butts on the ground all around 🤔. The fee to get in is a little high, but they give families a small break. The best part is the fish hatchery the ancients dug into the rock and that's actually outside of the pay area and free to hike to. I liked getting to see how it was laid out and we had fun, but it isn't the best ruin site by a long shot.

There Is nothing great about this place, i realy do not get why it has So high user review score, everything Is made as reconstruction from modern materials like concrete or normal bricks. That Is not How the archeological site Is supposed to look like. Do not recommend.

This spectacular archaeological site is located on a small peninsula by the sea, where remnants from various ancient periods converge, making for a truly fascinating visit that takes us through different eras of occupation represented by diverse buildings. Within the site, we can find the remains of prehistoric huts, impressive Bronze Age cisterns, an Iberian settlement, and a Roman maritime villa. Although little remains of the huts, the outline of their enclosure is clearly visible. Most of the notable remains belong to the Iberian occupation phase, which includes the remnants of two large temples, several houses, and a storage facility. Finally, from the Roman villa, we can see fish farms carved into the natural rock, which cannot be visited from inside the site but can be discerned from a distance; as well as the remains of modest thermal baths, which have given the site its name and are divided into the classic arrangement of rooms: frigidarium, tepidarium, and caldarium. Additionally, two small pools and some parts of the praefurnium (furnace) have been preserved, where a metal grate from the 2nd century AD was discovered, currently housed in the Archaeological Museum of Alicante. However, I must caution that the ruins are undergoing extensive restoration, making it difficult to clearly discern the original construction elements. I understand the reasoning behind such measures to make the site more appealing to visitors, especially casual ones, and to facilitate understanding of the layout of the various structures with the help of signage. Yet, it is true that such thorough restoration often disregards the ancient building methods, diminishing the authenticity of the site and complicating a proper analysis of the construction techniques and materials that may have been used. Even so, while sacrificing some authenticity of the remains, a consolidation of the layout of the different buildings has been achieved, and the original foundations are protected, which are very positive aspects of the restoration, though they may not please everyone (like the author of this review), they will certainly appeal to many others. In conclusion, I highly recommend visiting this splendid site where the constructions of various civilizations that inhabited this fascinating place unfold in a diachronic sequence. It is generally a quick and enriching visit due to the excellent explanatory panels, and partly thanks to the restorations, it briefly transports us to the streets of an ancient enclave that experienced the fortunes of diverse civilizations, whose only commonality was the choice of such a privileged and beautiful location to establish their formidable constructions, which have ultimately left an indelible mark on the past of Illeta.

The IBERO-PUNIC site is exceptionally well-preserved and located very close to the El Campello Nautical Club. The guided tour is essential for understanding the history of the site and grasping both ancient and recent history, spanning over 5,000 years. The guide is fantastic, and the hour and a half of the visit goes by really quickly. This is definitely a place worth visiting.

The coast is not just about beach tourism and cocktails; it is full of treasures like this impressive archaeological site. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit it for work. What I didn't like was that, once again, they prohibit entering with pets. It's absurd. There are paths to walk on, and if you keep your dog on a leash, there shouldn't be any problem. I wonder why they don't consider that if you're visiting the area with your pet and want to see this site, there's nowhere to leave it. It's incomprehensible how in Spain (because in other countries like Italy, there are no such issues) they persist in denying families with pets the enjoyment of art.

Really interesting spot. We went out from Alicante by the tram to see it. Super easy to get to. Interesting site. On a beautiful point. Really cool to see how people lived in a little village. Wish I’d brought snorkel gear. Great, uncrowded beach area around.

Lovely area to swim and snorkel. We arrived after 1 pm and it has just closed for the afternoon. We discovered that you could follow a rocky path around the ruins and could see the whole site through the wire fence. While I appreciate the history there wasn’t really much to see. Overall we are happy to have travelled out there just because it’s a pretty bay.
