A wonderful hotel for a stay. I recommend it 100% if you come to Cartagena. It has modern facilities, is clean, and the staff is friendly. There is a shared kitchen. It is also very close to the central area, with all the monuments and historical ruins. This is very useful if you are coming for tourism. Special mention goes to Eva, the hotel receptionist. She is a wonderful person. She greets you with great kindness, is attentive, and helps you in everything she can. Moreover, she explains the history of the city and the various iconic monuments in a very engaging and interesting way.

I (solo traveller, dorm bed) spent three nights here in February 2026 and I liked it a lot. Everything clean and well maintained. Great common areas and most of all: Friendly and helpful staff!

One star because I can't give zero... I booked a room through a well-known app that seemed like a great deal, but... upon arrival, my single room was switched to a shared room with eight people. Of course, I left. The friendly receptionists told me that another famous company was involved in the booking, for which they are not responsible... I understand them, but my week in Cartagena has gone down the drain... The hostel is complicit in allowing others to breach accommodation contracts; I'm sure I'm not the first person to experience this... Did they do anything about it? I'm trying to get a refund; such a significant change in conditions would warrant it... But I don't have much hope that it will happen in the short term; my lawyer told me we will take legal action.

It’s nice enough, very new, clean, probably with a nice view from the private rooms. The tube slides are more practical than just a fun touch, seeing as the sole elevator is constantly busy and the staircase hidden.
For the dorms though: the ventilation is too weak for the amount of people, you can cut the air with a knife (but not open any window). But at least it’s warm (in winter).
More importantly: who had the bad idea to put ensuite toilet/shower in a dorm for that many people - and even worse, put the sinks directly into the room?? Incredibly annoying. Unless you enjoy listening to people brush their teeth and to smell their hairspray/ deodorant. You can’t spare others your own spray session either, as there are no bathrooms to use on the floor.
You get a locker & key though and the beds have curtains so while you get to hear and smell everything at least you can block views.
Reception is fine, not overly friendly but fine. The kitchen is good!
The rooftop has a great view and you can hang out there.

The Loop INN is a highly recommended hostel! It has everything you need to enjoy a pleasant stay in the city of Cartagena, with a prime location in the historic center of the city. The rooms are properly air-conditioned, the beds are comfortable, and they come equipped with privacy curtains, independent lights, outlets, USB charging ports, and a spacious storage area with a lock, so there's no need to bring your own padlock. Additionally, it features a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, well-designed bathrooms that ensure privacy, a laundry room with washers and dryers that you can use for 3 euros each, and a shared space for reading or coworking that is very comfortable and has good internet access. What surprised me the most is that it has an elevator and a gym, which is quite well-equipped, things that are hard to find in a hostel. There is also a terrace with a solarium, loungers, tables with benches, and a beautiful panoramic view. All the spaces are comfortable, super clean, and smell nice. To top off the experience, the atmosphere is very family-friendly, and the staff is super friendly. I would definitely choose to come back here.

The price is good and the location is very central, the staff is super friendly. There is a gym, a terrace, and a common area with a kitchen and refrigerator. The downside is that hardly any water came out of the shower, the room smelled of tobacco, and it was quite noisy. Some rooms have a desk, and there are also rooms with bunk beds.

Ku Muhammad Irfan Ku Zaimi Loop INN Hostel Cartagena is a solid, budget‑friendly, well‑located hostel — ideal for backpackers, solo travelers, or small groups who want a clean, convenient base without spending much

The Location itself is really cool, but some of the stuff is really unfriendly, overall I felt like a number and not like a guest. One morning they forced me to switch into a dirty room spontaneously and then lied about the reason and made false promises.

This is the fourth time I've stayed here in the last few months. I always check out all the options in Cartagena and I always end up choosing this one; it never disappoints. It’s much more than you expect from a hostel, I would compare it to some 3-star hotels in the area. The facilities are updated and well-maintained. I've only stayed in private rooms, but there are also shared ones on the lower floors. The prices are really competitive.
In the summer months, the tourism is mainly young and local, although I've also seen families and people passing through. For the rest of the months, at least during the times I've been here, the crowd is very varied, and it's a quiet place throughout the year. The rooms are simple, equipped with the essentials; the private ones on the third floor have a private bathroom and TV. All have a balcony, which is noteworthy in the area because it’s impossible to find a hotel with a balcony or terrace, and this one has both. There’s also a terrace for smokers.
Just a short walk from the historic center, with plenty of excellent dining options nearby. It’s easy to park, always on the first try and right next to the hostel. There’s a huge cultural offering in the surroundings and in Cartagena in general; the city is a marvel. The reception is attentive and very friendly; they always take great care of me. Overall, it’s a very good choice.

LoopInn hostel offers variety of accomodation, there is 4 bunk beds, 8, but also they offer private room with bathroom inside. Price is a little higher but just enough compared to the other private with bath accomodation in the area. They dont have only female room unfortunately as they only have few rooms and most guest are males on some days but they are very kind to accomodate and can put you on a room that has more females.
I run on some card issue when all my cards are not working but i was able to extend my stay for days here and just paid cash, they’re the nicest here, always adapting to their guests need.
The hostel location is very convenient about 2-3 minutes walk to groceries and restaurants. Tourist spots are also almost walking distance.
All rooms have private sink, and bathrooms, its always clean and refilled daily. Beddings, towels and sheets will be given to you after each stay so you can assure that its fresh linen.
I love that they have everything here, from vending machines and coffee vending machines perfect when i work late nights, they have some games for entertainment, there’s a room for gym, laundry, a nice terrace overlooking cartagena and my favorite, the lounge for working area since i travel and work remote.
Like i mentioned, they only have few beds, so dont hesitate to book when you see a spot.
