Magnificent, very well preserved. Up top, there are beautiful peacocks, a lot of them, a delightful surprise. I was able to film them and watch them as they approach you, despite some rude people who don't leave them alone.

It should have been open until 17:30, they close earlier and not allow visit even if they are still inside. Bad employee, unfortunately, we asked for 5 minutes at 17 but were refused. It's a pity they are working for the state and not interested in people who are passionate from history, or even to respect the schedule of their workplace at least.

This is a place where history envelops you, embraces you, and lingers in the air. I feel a rush of emotion as I gaze upon and step into these remarkable remnants of the past. I look at the walls and imagine who might have leaned against them, passionately kissing their beloved. What kind of sandals trod these pavements 2000 years ago? What feelings did those people experience? What joys and sorrows filled their lives? It's astonishing to witness the history that has been waiting for us beneath these battered and overlooked streets of Cartagena. The Cerro del Molenete and its surroundings have transformed from a dismal Mediterranean "Chinatown" with its narrow, poorly lit, and winding alleys, which felt like a workshop for novices who lost their "innocence" on beds with bug-infested mattresses. Countless generations of locals and visitors from all over the region have walked these streets, making it impossible to estimate the number. The old Molinete was likely the dark theater of a thousand secret pleasures. Inevitably, it must have been a refuge for criminals and abusers, dominating too many poor and underpaid women; fortunately, all of that has vanished forever. Today, it is an essential place to discover and understand the past and future of this city. The power of Rome still walks among these well-preserved and frequently visited ruins. The Roman Forum of Cartago Nova is a fundamental part of this historic city, which has taken an enormous historical and millennial "nap" to be reborn in this Cartagena, which increasingly gazes proudly at its past with the intention of reclaiming the glory we once had.

The archaeological recovery work done at this excavation of the ancient Roman forum of the city is spectacular. You can see in detail how it was laid out, and it’s easy to imagine how life was in this place. If you have the opportunity to take the guided tour, the explanations are very interesting and make the visit much more enjoyable.

Maybe the best museum in the city: large excavations and very nice exhibits. I had only one hour to see it before it closed and that felt still a bit like rushing through it.

An impressive engineering and conservation project that revitalizes an area that was once dangerous in the heart of Cartagena! It's amazing to see how the excavations progress and all that legacy and heritage of a three-thousand-year-old city comes to light. I highly recommend visiting it with a guide to better understand the significance of what we have in front of our eyes!

Massive Roman ruin site that looks only to get bigger as they continue to excavate! Very impressive Roman baths and what looks like Roman flats/shop fronts! Brilliant for history buffs.
