Magnificent, super well preserved. At the top, there are beautiful peacocks, a delightful surprise. I was able to film and watch them as they approach you despite some rude people who don't leave them alone.

It should have been open until 17:30, they close earlier and not allow visit even if they are still inside. Bad employee, unfortunately, we asked for 5 minutes at 17 but were refused. It's a pity they are working for the state and not interested in people who are passionate from history, or even to respect the schedule of their workplace at least.

This is a place where history envelops you, embraces you, and lingers in the air. I feel a rush of emotion as I gaze upon and step inside these historic remnants. I look at the walls, imagining who might have leaned against them while passionately kissing their beloved. What kind of sandals treaded these pavements two thousand years ago? What were their feelings, and what joys and sorrows colored their lives? It's astonishing to witness the past that awaited us beneath these battered and overlooked streets of Cartagena. The Cerro del Molenete and its surroundings have transformed from a dismal Mediterranean 'Chinatown' with its narrow, poorly lit, and convoluted alleys—once a workshop for novices who lost their 'innocence' on rickety beds with bug-infested mattresses. Countless generations of Cartagena residents and visitors from across the region have paraded through these streets, making it impossible to estimate the number. The old Molinete was likely the dark theater of a thousand secret lusts. Inevitably, it must have been a refuge for criminals and abusers who dominated too many poor, underpaid women; fortunately, all of that has vanished for good. Today, it is an essential place to understand and appreciate the past and future of this city. The power of Rome still lingers among these well-preserved and frequently visited ruins. The Roman Forum of Carthago Nova is a fundamental part of this historic city that has taken an enormous historical and millennial 'nap' only to awaken once more in this Cartagena, which increasingly looks back at its past with the intention of reclaiming the glory we once had.

The archaeological recovery work done at this excavation of the ancient Roman forum of the city is spectacular. You can appreciate in detail how it was laid out, and it's easy to imagine how life was lived in this place. If you have the chance to take the guided tour, the explanations are very interesting and make the visit much more enjoyable.

Maybe the best museum in the city: large excavations and very nice exhibits. I had only one hour to see it before it closed and that felt still a bit like rushing through it.

An amazing engineering and conservation project that revitalizes a previously dangerous area in the heart of Cartagena! It’s wonderful to see how the excavations progress and all that legacy and heritage of a three-thousand-year-old city comes to light. I highly recommend visiting it with a guide to better understand the scale of what we have before our eyes!

Massive Roman ruin site that looks only to get bigger as they continue to excavate! Very impressive Roman baths and what looks like Roman flats/shop fronts! Brilliant for history buffs.
