Nice views and some interesting stories and objects. With high winds, many areas were closed off, and entrance to the castillo was very hard to find. Even harder to find was an exit. The only way out we found was through the (paid) panaromic elevator. Which does not have a regular call button when you are at the castillo level...

It's not your typical castle, like most others; it introduces you to the history and origins of Cartagena, its craftsmanship, architecture, and growth. The entrance fee is 5 euros per adult, and they offer audio guides in several languages. The castle is surrounded by gardens and peacocks and boasts the best views of the city. As a recommendation, the gardens need some maintenance.

We visited the Castillo de la Concepción in Cartagena. Alejandro, our guide, accompanied us on this free and highly recommended tour. The castle encapsulates the millennia of history of this capital: from the Punics to the present day. With Alejandro's guidance, we learned about the evolution of the population, its milestones, architectural changes, and the main buildings, mountains, castles, barracks, and businesses of Cartagena. Our two minor daughters had a great time; it was very engaging. Thank you for considering people with mobility issues. A highly recommended visit if you're in Cartagena. An exceptional viewpoint.

One of the highlights of Cartagena! Worth the visit. Entry is difficult to find, goes through a tunnel, then through a museum of the Roman era, then through the Roman theatre. You can go up higher and see the views of the mountains and other castles. This is the only castle in and around the city that is maintained for tourism.

There is a feee way to enter from the opposite side of the elevator. To enter inside the castle is paid but the park around it is free and you still have pretty good views in every direction. It would be a perfect place for a rooftop bar or cafe. Worth considering 🤔

The castle, featuring the keep and cisterns, is surrounded by walls and beautiful gardens. You pay an entrance fee of 4 euros and enjoy all the views of the city, complete with informative panels and a couple of very fitting videos. Another must-visit in Cartagena. Take your time, as from up high you have a 360-degree view of the entire city, which has much to appreciate: several forts, castles, Roman antiquities, and modernist buildings – a true spectacle. I repeat, go up and take advantage of everything the visit has to offer. A must-see in Cartagena.

Being in the center and on a hill, you have a 360-degree view of the entire city. You can easily walk up or take the exterior elevator for 2 euros. There is also a small museum featuring inventions by Da Vinci and some other items, along with a pleasant, landscaped environment. It's worth a visit.

Our visit coincided with an exhibition about Leonardo Da Vinci and his inventions and paintings. You can walk up (via stairs or road) or take the panoramic elevator from Cartagena. The route can be a bit tricky for people with mobility issues. From the castle, there are unbeatable panoramic views of Cartagena. The castle is quite well maintained. The collection of objects inside wasn't very extensive, but you can learn about the area's evolution throughout history. One downside was that the public restrooms outside were literally disgusting. The toilets didn't work and were very dirty. Other than that, it's a visit worth making, and if you go on foot, it's worth visiting Parque Torres around the castle, with its views, duck pond, and full of peacocks.

Nice views of the city and port. The walk up is lovely or you can take the lift. Would be nice if they had a cafe up there. The vending machine wasn’t working (very common with that particular company) so we couldn’t get water. Still worth a visit

Spectacular views of Cartagena and nice museum. If you are not doing a guided tour, highly recommend purchasing the 4, 5 or all inclusive pass/voucher that will get you into multiple or all attractions, as it makes it less complicated to visit the major attractions. The Cartagena multi passes are found on the Puerto de Culturas website. With the multi attraction/voucher pass, the Roman Theater and Museum only come together, and count as 2 attractions. I thought that by purchasing the online multi-pass we wouldn't have to wait in line at all, but we did have to wait in line at the elevator going up to the castle. Tour guides also get to jump in front of everyone standing in line to go up the elevator. I think we ended up waiting in line for the elevator about 15 minutes. I would have preferred to just walk up to the castle, but we were trying to save energy for everything that we wanted to see. We were able to visit Conception Castle, Roman Forum and its museum, and the Roman Theater and its museum in time to get back to the ship with time to spare.
